Secrets of Auto Dealers: Things You Should Be Ready To

Getting a car is always a pleasant experience and the event that will stay in your memory for years! Well, these emotions may be spoiled if you happen to make a bad deal. These are the recommendations for you, guys, to be aware of the most popular and widespread secrets of auto dealers you should be aware of when buying a car it, be it a new or a used model:

·      All dealers have the only objective – to sell a car

This can mean only one thing: they will not stop praising the car you like, its characteristics, general look etc., even if they know that there is something wrong with it. They will NEVER tell you that, because they are not your friends or close relatives. Furthermore, they see right from the start how knowledgeable and experienced you are, so if you don’t know much about cars and their characteristics, it makes sense to take along someone you can trust.
·      Each dealer looks for a personal profit

That’s not a secret that all dealers get profit from the amount of deals made. No matter how friendly and helpful they are, their initial objective is to sell you a car at any cost, even if it is not the best option for you!

·      Most dealers are not real car experts

When you come to the local dealership, you expect that a salesperson will help you choose the best variant and rely on his/her experience, professionalism and knowledgeability. Don’t! Apart from the fact that most of them are not enthusiastic about the job they do every day, they are not real experts in this business.

Car dealers are just trained to provide basic information about this or that car without getting insight into the details, which are nonetheless very crucial! Most customers, by the way, understand what I mean just because they often found themselves in such situations. They come to the dealership to get a car just to realize that the salesperson knows less than they do! This if often compensated by a friendly look, nice appearance, smiles, uniforms etc.

·         Some history reports are not to be trusted

When asking for a history report of your vehicle, you feel safe and protected. Well, in some cases you can trust those reports, but practice shows that in many situations, they are nothing but a fake. Sometimes, dealers use them to “increase” the cost of an old crappy vehicle, for instance. Keep in mind, that some dealerships use information reported by the previous users of the vehicle, so you just cannot check it pretty well right on the spot.

·         Give preference to expensive cars

When you get to the dealerships, you have one purpose in mind – to buy a car that will meet your standards and requirements and will not hit you on the pocket. So, it’s quite natural that when you are offered a great deal at the decreased price, your first intention is to purchase it right away! Don’t be fooled! Remember that cheap cars or those that are offered at discount are not the solution you are looking for!

·     Getting a good deal is a great luck!

Dealerships can offer you pretty good deals, but you have to keep in mind all the aspects mentioned above. When a salesperson sees that you are experienced and knowledgeable enough to understand all the pros and cons of the offer or have someone around to help you figure out the details, he/she will hardly decide to offer you a bad deal. So, get prepared well in advance, look for a trusted and experienced partner, stay calm and remain reasonable, irrespective of what you are offered!
